I help Advisors by first helping them clarify what challenges they are facing today and will face in the future. Many Advisors don’t get to interact with their peers on a regular basis, so I consider it a privilege to meet with hundreds of Advisors and get to understand their businesses. I try to take those interactions, figure out what lessons can be learned from them, and apply them to the challenges and opportunities that the Advisor and I have defined together.
I am an avid outdoor enthusiast who enjoys all the wonderful aspects of living in Colorado. I especially enjoy golfing, skiing, cycling and spending time with my wife and daughters. When I’m on vacation that doesn’t involve a mountain, you’re more likely to find me on a lake in Wisconsin or a beach in Florida.
As a Regional Director, Ben Slater works with Advisors as a consultant to help them address obstacles they face today in order to helpmeet financial goals for their future. Ben loves his role as a business consultant, partnering with advisors to build the business they envision. He strives to help them try to solve investment problems, create more efficient practices and build strong relationships with clients.
Prior to joining Loring Ward, Ben was with NPH as a Business Development Consultant where he worked with independent advisors to expand their fee-based management businesses. Ben’s background includes many years as Regional Director of Sales for Curian Capital, where he helped develop and build an RIA platform throughout the central region. He began his career with Northwestern Mutual in Denver, CO.
Ben holds Series 6, 65 and 63 licenses and earned his Certified Fund Specialist (CFS®) designation. He graduated from Colorado State University with a BS in Industrial Engineering and Economics.
